ZAGREB – Darijo Srna suggested Luka Modric to play in La Liga next season. If grazing in the realm of Spain, Srna believes Modric can be one of the contenders to compete for the Ballon d’Or.

Speculation about the future of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, is indeed kept to the fore in recent weeks. Several colleagues advised him to graze Modric in La Liga.

After Davor Suker, Srna turn who advised that way. “Modric is my best friend and he is one of a very great player,” said Srna told L’Equipe on Wednesday (27/06/2012).

“I know Manchester United and Chelsea wanted him. But, playing in La Liga will develop his talent and I believe he can win the Ballon d’Or, “continued the player Shaktar Donetsk.

“Modric could be shining in La Liga, because in Premier League the game rely more physical and difficult for him to spend his best game,” added the 30 years old midfielder.

“I appreciate that Tottenham have great players, but they will never win the Premier League,” he said.
