U.S. President Barack Obama, congratulate to  the U.S. women team that successfully defended an Olympic gold medal for the third consecutive time after defeating Japan 2-1 at Wembley Stadium, Thursday, August 9, 2012 local time (Friday morning GMT).

Not only successfully defend the Olympic gold medal, the U.S. women national team was also successful revenge against the Japanese. Last year, Hope Solo and his friends defeated Japan in the 2011 World Cup final.

“We must give special congratulations to coach women who have managed to avenge the defeat in the World Cup,” Obama said as quoted by the official FIFA website.

This is the fourth gold medal U.S. women national team having previously won at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. U.S. national team hero’s daughter in the Olympic final this time was Carli Lloyd who scored two goals against Japan.

Scored two goals to be successful redemption Lloyd failure. Previous 30-year midfielder became executor of the penalty which failed when the U.S. women defeated Japan’s national team at the 2011 World Cup on penalties.

“I want everything to prove people wrong, I proved to be a special player. If people do not believe me, I will perform better,” said Lloyd as reported by the NY Daily News.
