ALZIRA – President Manuel Llorente claimed Valencia has a potential to bring Sergio Canales from Real Madrid. On the other hand, Llorente asserted that Juan Mata will not leave the Mestalla this season.
As known, Canales’ oppurtunity to get a core position in the squad for Madrid’s squad is very thin. Because the young midfielder Spain national team has to compete with two big names as Mesut Ozil and Ricardo Kaka.
Not surprisingly, Valencia tried to exploit the situation. Pratically, the move to the Mestalla, is certainly quite tempting Canales. “This is a thing that we try and we were immediately announced the development of the transfer”, said Llorente.
Besides discussing Canales, Llorente also talked about Mata. This young Spain Player is currently of target some kind of club as Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Nevertheless, like Valencia did not intend to sell it currently.
“Today Mata was is the middle of Lisbon following the preseason and he’s still our player. I think Mata will remain with us, considering we have not received any bids”, said Llorente.
“The player who want to stay in Valencia will we maintain. Instead, we would also welcome those who want to play here”, he said as quoted from Goal on Monday (01/08/2011).
