Manchester – Despite scoring one goal in Euro 2012 Wayne Rooney’s performance was not exactly meet expectations. It was already predicted by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
During the tournament in Poland, Ukraine, Rooney only appeared twice as the cessation of Britain in the semifinals. He had missed two games due to suspension beginning in qualifying.
With the sentence means that the longer Rooney is not in action in the field in a competitive match since the Manchester United last game in May with a game contra Ukraine on June 19 with only appeared for 37 minutes in test match vs Belgium in between.
Ferguson, who understood very well with the typical player, claimed no less surprised if Rooney perform optimally with the Three Lions.
“I always thought it would be difficult. We know him better than anyone else and he needs a lot of games,” said Ferguson as quoted by Sky Sports.
“Wayne is a powerfully built young man. If he missed a few games, then he needs three or four games to get back into top shape.”
“He does not look as sharp as usual (against Italy). It is hard to play two matches in four days.”
