Genoa – Former Liverpool and Valencia coach Rafa Benitez revealed that he rejected the offer to deal with Sampdoria, because the priority is to train an English club.

 

Sampdoria had connected with Benitez last week, though rejected, the Spanish national coach. He added, Sampdoria are serious club to build their future projects.

 

“Sampdoria are very serious, very professional and they have a clear project,” said Benitez, like quoted by ESPN, Sunday (01/07/2012). “My idea is to find a club that can match my desire, I hope the club is to be title challengers,” he continued.

 

“Sampdoria really good, I am very happy because they consider me, but I’m waiting for the possibility of other options,” he explained.

 

“The priority is English, but I should be ready for any challenges. I am trying to find a club that will take part at the top and challenging title, Premier League, Champions League or Europa League, so there is something you have won,” he concluded.

 

Benitez had earlier won La Liga twice with Valencia, in 2005 he won the Champions League with Liverpool and Inter Milan in 2010, he won the Club World Cup.
